In the 2025 Cup, I photographed two matches which were memorable for different reasons. In April 2025, Ian Kirk scored a double hundred for Barkby United - this was only the 22nd time a double hundred had been scored in the competition. In May 2025, the match between Aston Ingham and Colwall went down to the last over, with Colwall's last wicket pair needing eight runs to win; a run out settled it in favour of Aston Ingham by 1 run.
In 2024, the match at Fillongley in June saw a remarkable spell of left-arm swing bowling by the home side's Steve Gardner who took 5 wickets for 6 runs, as opponents Nether Whitacre fell to 4 runs for 5 wickets. In 2023, Barkby United won a match where scores finished level, by virtue of losing fewer wickets - with extras proving a handy help in the outcome. The 2022 Cup was won by Dumbleton, whose all round excellence, and star performances by a number of players, made them worthy winners.
